Artist Statement

Born and raised in CT. I currently live in Farmington, CT,

Besides creating art, I love to read, ballroom dance, garden, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

How did I get into collage?

Well, I was always interested in art; I liked to draw and paint. I was good but not great.

Around that time I discovered collage artists online.

An artist in Florida really captured my interest: Elizabeth St Hillaire.

So I tried it. I was pretty good but realized I needed some instruction.

That year I took a 3 day workshop with Elizabeth and I was hooked! I love to collage!

The fun part is painting my own papers to use in my pieces.

I am constantly keeping my eyes open for old books, maps, sheet music etc.

I then take those and apply different paint techniques to them to transform them into beautiful hand-painted papers to use in creating different animals, birds and flowers.

Over the years my work has improved and I can proudly say that many of my pieces are in private collections.

Several of my pieces have been selected to be in juried shows in CT.

I have had pieces at the West Hartford Art League, New Britain Art League, Farmington Valley Arts Center, The Underground Gallery, Gallery On the Green, Voice of Art,  Arts Center East,Gallery 53, Gallery 68  and even  at the New Britain Museum of Art.
